CHILD LABOUR: The Impediment to a Bright Future.

Child Labour refers to the forceful engagement of children in works that deprived them of childhood, their potential and dignity and is dangerous and harmful to them either physically, mentally, socially or morally.

From the above definition, you will believe that child labour stops and shatter the hope of every child affected for a better tomorrow.

Causes of Child Labour

Poverty: This is the main cause of child labour in the world today. Due to the high-rate of unemployment and overpopulation, many families are poor and can easily be deceive with the luxuries of life they desire for.

Educational problems: This includes distance from school, lack of money to sponsor education etc.

Consequences of Child Labour

Sexual Abuse: Girl children sold out for child labour are sexually exploited by adults, rape and serves as vessel for prostitution. Early and unwanted pregnancy, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDS are not excluded.

Physical Abuse: Such child is always physically abuse with corporal punishment, verbal attacks, humiliation and bad remarks.

Lacks of provision of basic needs of life.

Death: Such a child experience death at a tender age due to  stress, hard labour, physical abuse and sexual abuse.


There is an adage that says "Children are the leaders of tomorrow". How can this be true, if the very leaders of tomorrow are made slaves and are sexually abuse and brutalize. To bring that adage to reality, Always says NO to Child Labour for a better future and training of great future leaders.
