Benjamin Solomon Carson popularly known as Ben Carson was born on September 18, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan. He is an American politician, a philanthropist, author and a former neurosurgeon. His mother, Sonya Carson a school drop out in the third grade who was married when she was only 13 and got divorced when he (Ben Carson) was only eight years old.

Ben Carson at a tender age didn't have much of a chance. He grew up in a broken home of poverty and prejudice, with bad grades and a violent temper, but yet his mother (Sonya Carson) never give up or lost her faith in him persuading him to follow opportunities she never had,l. She helped him to believed in himself by growing his imagination and intelligence.

Benjamin Solomon Carson is an American politician serving as the 17th and current United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development since March 2nd, 2017 under the Trump Administration.

In 1984, Ben Carson was appointed the University's director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins hospital in Maryland until his retirement in 2013. 

As a pioneer in neurosurgery, Ben Carson's achievements include performing the only successful separation of conjoined twins joined at the back of the head.

 he pioneered the first successful neurosurgical procedure on a foetus inside the womb, performing the first completely successful separation of type-2 vertical craniopagus twins; developing new methods to treat Brain-stem tumors; and reviving hemispherectomy techniques for controlling seizures.

Ben Carson became the youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery in the country at age 33.

He has received more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees, dozens of national merit citations and has written over 100 neurosurgical publications.

In 2008, Ben Carson was bestowed the presidential medal of freedom, the highest Civilian award in the United States.

Buhari's group clarifies Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff's appointment as Director General

The Presidential Support Committee of Buhari 2019 has said the presidency misunderstood its appointment of former National Chairman of the PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, as its director general. The National Secretary of the group, Hon. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, in a statement, yesterday, said the group’s mission was misunderstood by the presidency to mean that Sheriff’s committee was to compete with the Presidential Campaign Council headed by Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi. Kassim said the committee was a conglomerate of about 300 Buhari support groups that unanimously endorsed Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to lead the said Presidential Support Committee for Buhari in 2019 and not the Buhari Campaign Organisation for the 2019 election.
