The Origin of GSM

    

      The telephone was invented by a Scottish-born US scientist called Alexander Graham Bell in the year 1879. The GSM was found to function on radio frequency allocation in line with the ordinary telephone services and as such it was easily adopted. Originally, the GSM was developed to service military and public safety units in the United State of America because of its ability to transmit or receive signals even on transit.

          Mobile phone began, tong GSM was conceived in 1982. GSM responsibility was transferred to European Telecommunication Standard Institute (ETSI) in 1989. Phase one of the GSM specification were published in 1990. Commercial service of the Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) started in June 1991 and by 1993, there were 36 GSM network in 22 countries with additional countries having already selected GSM in addition to Europe, South Africa, Australia and many middle and far East countries have chosen to adopt GSM.

          GSM was introduced into Nigeria Commercial countries in 1994. It broke the monopoly about mobile phone being the exclusive preserved for the rich. With the late set Development, students, teachers, okada man, civil workers mechanics etc now proudly use GSM handsets.
