Effects of Cultism in Nigeria

Nigeria has greatly suffered the negative effects of cultism. The split-tribal culture made it a ‘join us or die' thing. The various groups and their strife for dominance is the big deal. These effects includes:

Alarming death of young and old people: a little matter triggered by one girlfriend from one group can lead to the death of members and their parents.

Increase in school dropout: their are many reasons for which a student may be expelled or suspended from school; in Nigeiria, about 60% has all to do with cultism.

Increase in thuggery; the big boys of cult groups recruit the baddest among the younger ones who are loyal to them to become their thugs. From the political to the religious circles, this menace is a reality.

Increase in theft and robbries: the poor boys “bammed” are sent out to do some notorious activities as ordered by their toppers; such as rape, robbery, kidnap, assassination, car-snatching etc.

There is much to write, but for time sake, I drop my pen on the note: cultism has not benefited Nigeria children and youths in anyway. We are praying that this social menace will come to an end in Amen!

Why did David Choose five smooth stones before going to fight Goliath?

Question: "Why did David choose five smooth stones before going to fight Goliath? Was David doubting God? Was it because Goliath had five brothers? Or, was David simply being prepared?" Answer:   Some presume that David took five smooth stones instead of just one because he had some doubt. However, there is no indication in the story of David and Goliath that by picking up five smooth stones instead of one that David was doubting God. Rather, David was simply being prepared. What if the Philistines attacked him after he killed Goliath? How would he have defended himself? David was simply being prepared when he took the four additional stones. Also, he couldn’t have known that one stone would be enough to kill the giant. God had not promised that David would kill Goliath with the first stone. David had experience in defending the sheep he guarded with his sling and stones. It would seem that the animals David had faced were far braver than the men with Goliath, because they al...
